This project involved converting a typical unfinished basement into a modern, functional, and visually appealing living space using a semi-gloss polished concrete finish. Unlike high-gloss commercial floors, a semi-gloss finish for residential basements offers subtle elegance, balancing light reflection with a warm, home-friendly look.

The homeowner wanted a flooring solution that would withstand moisture, handle occasional spills, and remain low-maintenance while giving the basement a contemporary, polished aesthetic. Polished concrete was the ideal choice – durable, long-lasting, and versatile.

Step 1: Thorough Assessment & Surface Prep
